ASTORIA — The Sankta Lucia Festival of Lights, representing Astoria’s Nordic heritage, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Astoria High School Auditorium.

Sofia Sundstrom Eaton, runner-up to this year’s Miss Scandinavia, is this year’s Lucia bride. Eaton will lead her attendants and star boys in a traditional lighted procession and make a holiday season declaration to the community.

The festival includes caroling, led by Astoria’s Nordic Youth Choir, Scandinavian dance performances, a Christmas tree lighting and music by the Polka Dots. Refreshments will be offered by the Lower Columbia Danish Society.

Admission is $1 per person or $5 per family, benefiting the Astoria Scandinavian Midsummer Festival Association Scholarship Fund.
