Paper, bookbinding workshop offered at Sou’wester Lodge

SEAVIEW, Wash. — Artist, craftsperson and designer Yuka Petz will lead a workshop in sekkazome, a traditional Japanese form of folding and dyeing paper, at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sou’wester Lodge.

The workshop will cover designing patterns on paper, then binding that paper into a traditional stab-bound book.

Petz’s practice is centered around paper, language and text, encompassing printmaking, drawing and books. She is the host of “Artist’s Books Unshelved” and teaches book art workshops around the country.
