Local author plans two talks on hiking and history

- Stan Pine is the author of “Hiking Historic North Clatsop County, Oregon,” a book of more than 85 scenic hikes and walks in the region.
Stan Pine, a local author who has penned a book on historic hikes of Clatsop County, will talk at Fort George Brewery and Seaside Brewing Co. this week.
At 7 p.m. Thursday, Pine will introduce some of the hikes profiled in his book as part of Fort George’s Thursday Night Talk lecture series, a partnership with the Clatsop County Historical Society.
In Seaside, Pine presents at 6 p.m. Dec. 28 as part of the History & Hops series, organized by the Seaside Museum & Historical Society.
At both free events, the author looks into historical details surrounding local trails of various distances and difficulty levels.
