- Sou’wester Arts Week is scheduled for March 9 to March 16. Artist applications are open through Jan. 10.
SEAVIEW, Wash. — Applications are now open for the 2025 Sou’wester Arts Week, a weeklong residency building to a series of free performances, art installations and studio tours at the Sou’wester Lodge.
For 2025, the event’s theme is “Embers: Darkness to Fire,” exploring concepts of illumination, art as warmth, togetherness and renewal.
In past years, the residency has hosted more than 30 artists and collectives working in a diverse range of media, from writers to musicians, engineers to performance artists. This year’s event will take place from March 9 to March 16.
Artist applications are open through Jan. 10. Jurors this year include artist Liz Harris and Anis Mojgani, Oregon’s 10th poet laureate, who are joined by Julia Barbee, Kristina Goetz and Amanda Manitach.
Selected artists will be notified by Jan. 27. Pre-arrival site visits are available at discounted rates for artists hoping to see project spaces ahead of time to better inform their vision and project.
There is a $25 application fee, with additional costs for selected artists. To apply, and find full details on financial aid and scholarships available, contact souwesterartsweek@gmail.com or visit www.souwesterlodge.com.
