Waterfront art galleries near the Port of Ilwaco will open their doors for the seasonal Ilwaco Art Walk between 1 and 4 p.m. Sunday. Art walks will continue through September on the last Sunday of each month. Pick up a map and list at any participating gallery.

Don Nisbett Art Gallery, 167 Howerton Way

At this gallery, June’s art walk will focus on pieces created for local small businesses and events, such as “Chef’s Table,” the latest in a series of paintings made for the DEPOT Restaurant in Seaview.

The gallery shows original watercolors and hand-painted glassware by local artist Don Nisbett, whose work often includes whimsical depictions of familiar local places. Nisbett and his family will be at the event, telling the stories behind every piece.

Ilwaco Artworks, 109 First Ave.

This location will be hosting a drop-in “make and take” studio, where participants can make a ceramic tile, trivet, fridge magnet or house number. The studio is beginner-friendly and for ages 14 and over, or 10 and over with an adult. The studio also includes a small gallery featuring the work of multiple artisans.

J Brunner Fine Art, 118 First Ave.

This gallery shows idyllic representations of the Pacific Northwest, from the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse nearby to images of rock formations on the southern coast of Oregon. Featured is the work of local photographer J Brunner, shown with selected works by artist Karen Brazeau.

Luisa Mack Jewelry & Art, 177 Howerton Way

Watch local artists Anna Lee Larimore and Penny Treat paint in plein air and see how they catch the scenery in their own style — weather permitting. See more of their work at this gallery and studio, along with Luisa Mack’s one-of-a-kind silver and gold jewelry. Refreshments will be served.

Marie Powell Gallery, 177 Howerton Way

This dockside gallery at the Port of Ilwaco will feature new original mixed media paintings by Marie Powell. Also being shown are oil paintings by Greg Gorham depicting local fishing vessels, beach baskets by Susan Spence and pottery by David Campiche. Refreshments will be served.

SkyWater Home & Gallery, 139 Howerton Way

Featuring photo collages by Cindi Kaliszewski, which are made with original photographs transferred onto rice paper and collaged with various objects including lights, old clocks and candles.

Kaliszewski will be on-site during the event to explain her process. The gallery also includes work by more than 30 regional artists.
