“Fog on the Columbia” by Jody Miller was chosen last year for the Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa’s artist call.

ASTORIA — Regional artists are invited to submit work for consideration in the permanent collection of the Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa.

The hotel, which sits 600 feet into the Columbia River on a historic pier, is collaborating with local nonprofit Astoria Visual Arts for a third year to collect work, this year with the theme “Coastal Colors.”

The invitation is extended to artists living in Clatsop or Pacific counties working in two-dimensional media, such as painting, drawing and photography. Work should celebrate the many hues of the vibrant landscape of the Columbia-Pacific region.

A panel of hotel representatives and regional artists will select one piece to receive a $1,500 purchase award. Their work will be displayed prominently at the hotel and may be featured in various promotional materials.

Email up to three high-quality images to astoriavisualarts@gmail.com with a short artist bio before Oct. 30. See full details at www.astoriavisualarts.org.
