- Left unable to fly after a wing fracture, Cormie, a double-crested cormorant, has been an ambassador bird at the Wildlife Center of the North Coast since 2015. The Astoria nonprofit is holding its annual Founders Night fundraiser to benefit wildlife rehabilitation on Sunday.
ASTORIA — It’s a benefit for the birds. The Wildlife Center of the North Coast will host its eighth annual Founder’s Night fundraiser 6 p.m. Sunday at the Seaside Civic & Convention Center.
Founder’s Night honors the Astoria-based wildlife organization’s late founder, Sharnelle Fee, whose legacy lives on in its work to rescue and rehabilitate birds and other animals who are sick, injured or orphaned, as well as provide conservation education on the North Coast.
The event includes a multi-course dinner, live music, speakers and a silent auction. Tickets are $60, available at www.coastwildlife.org/event/founders-night.
