Art walk returns in Ilwaco to wrap up August

Galleries near the Port of Ilwaco will open their doors for the seasonal Ilwaco Art Walk between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday. Art walks will continue through September on the last Sunday of each month. Pick up a map and list at any of the participating locations below.
Cotton Lily Fabrics, 118 First Ave.
Artist Lori Holliday is inspired by waterfalls and enjoys the challenge of capturing atmospheric effects using dye on silk. Holliday is a Northwest native living in Kelso, Washington, and has been experimenting with her chosen medium for the past 10 years.
Don Nisbett Art Gallery, 167 Howerton Way
Featuring artist Don Nisbett’s romanticized images of the region, depicted in watercolor and acrylic paintings.
Nisbett also makes prints of his art and other items at his studio on the waterfront at the Port of Ilwaco. A family-run gallery, other art includes paintings and mixed media projects done in conjunction with his son, Hunter Nisbett, and wife, Jenna Austin.
Ilwaco Artworks, 109 First Ave.
Offering drop-in clay studio hours during the art walk. Create ceramic monoprint tiles, with glazing and firing included. Finished work may be shipped for visitors. Studio time is limited to ages 14 and over, or 10 and over with an adult.
J Brunner Fine Art, 118 First Ave.
Showing acrylics by Karen Brazeau and large format photography by Jason Brunner. Brunner’s moody images depict Northwest landscapes and foggy scenes of the Pacific Northwest.
Luisa Mack Jewelry & Art, 177 Howerton Way
Watch local painter Anna Lee Larimore continue her plein air scenes of the Port of Ilwaco during the art walk.
Larimore’s depictions of local sights will be on display at this studio and gallery, where artist Luisa Mack will be working on items like handmade silver and gold jewelry.
Marie Powell Gallery, 177 Howerton Way
This gallery will be featuring original oil and acrylic paintings by Gregory Gorham, an accomplished marine painter. Gorham will be at the gallery talking about his paintings of local fishing vessels.
Also being featured are resident artist Marie Powell’s original monotypes and work by local potter David Campiche.
Skywater Home & Gallery, 139 Howerton Way
This location will feature colorful and whimsical mixed-media glass art by Portland artist Mlyss Maygra. From plants made of stained glass to bees as spinning bike wheels, Maygra creates eclectic items for home and garden.
