Astoria indie band Holiday Friends will perform at the Astoria Armory on Thursday, March 31 in honor of their sophomore EP, “SpringSting,” which was released March 16.

ASTORIA — Lager Fest, a riverfront celebration of its namesake beer variety hosted by Buoy Beer Co., is set for 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Buoy has partnered with more than a dozen regional breweries for the event, which includes lager samples that vary by color, fermentation processes, hop profile and malt flavor.

Live music from Astoria band Holiday Friends will accompany the festivities Friday. The Hackles will perform during the festival Saturday.

Also sponsored by the brewery is Run on the River, a 5K, 10K and half-marathon running event along the Astoria Riverwalk on Saturday morning. The run is a fundraiser for Astoria Parks Recreation and Community Foundation. For more information about both events, visit www.buoybeer.com.
