North Coast Symphonic Band presents ‘Days of Nostalgia’

ASTORIA — “Days of Nostalgia,” a concert looking back at memorable songs of decades past, will open The North Coast Symphonic Band’s upcoming season at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Pieces at the Liberty Theatre show, led by conductor Terry Dahlgren, will include “Moon River,” featuring soloist Emily Sangerman on tenor sax, “California Dreamin'” and “Star Dust.”
Emceeing the event with prelude music from guitarist David Drury and flutist Shelley Loring Barker will be Brian Bergman, North Coast Symphonic Band board president, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The band is composed of local musicians and welcomes interested musicians to join a waiting list for potential new members. Rehearsals are at 7 p.m. on Mondays at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts in Astoria.
