ASTORIA — Local artist Kate Speranza has been offered a three-month residency in Finland and is inviting the community to take part.

Beginning in January, Speranza will send a series of three monthly art postcards from Finland to those who contribute $60 toward costs associated with the residency. She is also offering a $25 single-postcard option.

Speranza shows a variety of artwork at RiverSea Gallery, including jewelry pieces inspired by the purple vault lights on Astoria sidewalks. She also shows at Shearwater Studio & Gallery in Cannon Beach.
