Happy Valentine’s Day. I hope you and your loved ones can celebrate safely together — whether you’re celebrating with a romantic partner, with friends, with family or by yourself.
There’s a handful of events happening this weekend that you can enjoy both out and at home. Starting Friday, you can watch Seaside High School’s first play of 2021, “Game of Tiaras: A Stay at Home Play.” Like the show’s title suggests, you can watch the show from the comfort of your home by buying a ticket, then watching the show online.
On Saturday, throughout Astoria, there will be about a dozen open galleries for the Second Saturday Astoria Art Walk. The event runs from noon to 8 p.m. and will feature a variety of artists. Some of the featured artists will include annual FisherPoets Gathering favorites. Duncan Berry will be featured at RiverSea Gallery, George Wilson will be featured at Imogen Gallery. Astoria Visual Arts will hold an exhibit featuring the Kodiak King Crab Fishery.
Also happening Saturday is the Sou’wester Historic Lodge’s weekly virtual concert. This week’s concert features Portland folk musicians Mark Tegio and Lucas Benoit. The concert can be viewed at instagram.com/souwester.
More details on these events, plus some more ideas on how to celebrate the holiday, are detailed throughout this week’s edition. Other local events are listed on Coast Weekend’s online event calendar, which can be viewed at coastweekend.com.
However you celebrate, I hope you treat yourself a little this holiday weekend.
