Author to discuss new novel via Zoom

Manzanita Writers’ Series will host a book release and publishing workshop with author Melissa Eskue Ousley on Friday at 4 p.m. via Zoom.

Ousley will read from her latest book, “Constellations of Scars,” a novel set in Seaside. She will also discuss her publishing experience with Elle Beaumont of Midnight Tide Publishing.

Ousley serves as the Sunset Empire Park and Recreation District’s director of marketing promotions and special events in Seaside.

Ousley’s novel follows 12-year-old Amelia, who recently started growing pearls. She runs away from home and soon learns the world is much more dangerous than she expected.

Participation costs $10 for the event only or $25 for event access and a copy of the book. Registrants will receive the Zoom link the week of the event. Register at hoffmanarts.org/events/book-release-event/
