SEASIDE – Encore Dance Studio presents “The Polar Express” at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the Seaside Convention Center. This original adaptation of the Caldecott Award-winning book will delight and engage the youngest of audiences.
“The Polar Express” showcases more than 100 local dancers of all ages. Featured actors this year include Nick Kaim, Aysia Marinelli, Annice McEwan, Chloe Brown, Alaina Meyer, Anna May Kaim, Hannah Garhofer, Addy Darnell, Cheryl Cochran, Tia Larson and John Chapman.
The Polar Express will be traveling to the North Pole with tap dancing bakers and excited children on board. The train makes its way through the forest with dancing wolves, bunnies and the Northern Lights. At the North Pole, the children meet Santa’s tap dancing reindeer and discover Santa’s magical workshop with tumbling elves and teddy bears. “It is a very special production including musical theater, tap, jazz, hip hop and ballet – definitely not a yawner,” said Encore Dance Studio owner Denele Sweet.
Tickets are $8 and are available at the Surfsand Resort in Cannon Beach, downtown at Seaside Scents and at the Encore Dance Studio office, 3593 U.S. Highway 101 N. in Gearhart.
