Participants are also welcome to camp with the trio and their crew on the many beautiful islands and watch autumn slowly arrive. All events are free.

Weiers’ pick of the tour is the Goble Tavern, Thursday, Sept. 6. Celebrate Weiers’ birthday in the “swamps” of Goble.

Event organizers warn that participants may also become part of the film being made of this experience by Jake Janofsky, graduate of the Vancouver Film Institute in Vancouver, B.C.

Weiers, piano, has been performing on the keyboard from an early age. He studied jazz and composition at the University of Michigan with Ed Sarath, William Bolcom and Ross Lee Finney. Weiers has produced several recordings as a leader, including “Hard Time,” “Spectral” and “Fiction Junkies.” He has produced music for public television and toured the East and West Coasts, as well as India, playing his tunes. Active as a piano teacher and adjudicator in Oregon piano competitions, he teaches composition and performance workshops in Portland. His latest CD will be released on Diatic Records in January.

Mosley, a rising guitarist on the Northwest music scene, represents the natural evolution of jazz improvisation and composition. Having spent two years studying at Boston’s Berklee School of Music, he has learned from some of the world’s top musicians, including Joe Lovano, Mick Goodrick and Dave Fiucynski. With his 2006 debut as a leader with “The Miraculous Aspect of Time,” Mosley established himself as a soulful and intelligent improviser with a distinct and visionary approach to performing, in which he utilizes fretless and microtonal guitars as well as the traditional 12-tone. Mosley’s latest CD is “Outside Voices,” available from Diatic Records.

Tyler, acoustic bass, has been singing and performing jazz and soul music from the age of 4, as well as transcribing that music and studying theory at an early age. As a teen, he devoted his studies to classical music and at the age of 16 performed a solo concerto with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, later winning scholarships and fellowships to Boston University and Tanglewood Music Center. In New York City, Tyler performed, composed, recorded and improvised with diverse groups from Lincoln Center to the Knitting Factory to CBGB, touring the world and working with orchestras, bands and small groups on labels such as RCA, Music Masters, New World and John Zorn’s Tzadik label. He brings together his knowledge of jazz, his skill and experience as a composer and improviser, and his vocal talent and lyric writing to bring his musical vision to life.
