OCEAN PARK, Wash. – Adelaide’s, the newly-opened bookstore and coffee house at the historic Taylor Hotel, will host its first author event from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 10. Sydney Stevens, Northwest historian and author, will read and discuss excerpts from her book, “Dear Medora: Child of Oysterville’s Forgotten Years.”

“This event seems especially appropriate,” said proprietor Cyndy Hayward. “The Taylor Hotel was in its heyday during the years that young Medora Espy, the subject of Sydney’s book, was growing up in nearby Oysterville. Her family knew the Taylors. And even better – the book is based on letters between young Medora Espy and her mother. It’s ‘tailor made’ for an event the day before Mother’s Day.”

Attendees are welcome to remain afterwards to talk with the author and to enjoy coffee and pastries. Adelaide’s is located at 1401 Bay Ave.
