World Kite Museum offers free admission

LONG BEACH, Wash. – The World Kite Museum will join participating museums nationwide Saturday, Sept. 24, for the seventh annual Museum Day, opening its doors free of charge to all visitors who download the Museum Day Ticket from www.smithsonian.com/museumday. Each pass gains free admission for two people.
The Museum’s World War II exhibit contains two kites invented by Paul Garber, the instigator of the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum. The 1989 issue of Smithsonian Magazine, which featured an article of kite flying on the Long Beach Peninsula, will be on display.
