The Sou’wester Lodge hosts an ongoing artist residency program, but Arts Week is an opportunity to invite a group of artists to gather for a week of creativity.

SEAVIEW, Wash. — The Sou’wester Lodge has announced a lineup for Sou’wester Arts Week, an annual multi-day artist residency program set to return in March.

The event will include exhibitions, live music, studio tours and performances from more than 30 artists. Among them are Anis Mojgani, Oregon’s poet laureate, who will collaborate with three other artists on a project that combines text, sound and images.

Astoria artist Jenny Rideout will show textiles from her most recent body of work, “Sails, Freq Flags, and Bonnets for Space Exploration.”

Other projects will explore oyster farming through graphic comics, place handmade flutes on the beach to interact with the wind and explore moonlit forests of Seaview through a 16mm film reel.

The theme for this year’s event is “Currents & Frequencies,” which the Sou’wester describes as focusing on “communal movement.” For more details, visit www.souwesterlodge.com.
