ASTORIA — Two days of training in stage combat will be offered by actor and choreographer Sam Dinkowitz, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Dinkowitz’s workshop, titled “Fight Club: Stage Combat Basics,” will cover hand-to-hand skills like “punches, slaps, chokes, hair-pulls, and the crowd-pleasing knee to the face,” according to the Ten Fifteen Theater’s website.

Still, there’s an equal focus on safety, storytelling and approaching the craft with respect.

Dinkowitz has been a professional actor and stage combat choreographer for 15 years. He spent two seasons at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, training in professional stage combat. For details on the workshop, visit www.thetenfifteentheater.com.
