Ilwaco Art Walk marks end of season in September

Plein air paintings of Ilwaco by Anna Lee Larimore at Luisa Mack Jewelry & Art.

The last Ilwaco Art Walk of the season will bring together galleries on the southern end of the Long Beach Peninsula from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Pick up a map and list at any of the participating locations below.

Cotton Lily Fabrics, 118 First Ave.

At this new Ilwaco fabric shop, find original dye-on-silk art by Northwest artisan Lori Holliday, whose framed original paintings will be on display. Also, meet the owners during art walk and get inspired for future fabric projects.

Don Nisbett Art Gallery, 167 Howerton Way

This gallery will be featuring fall-inspired watercolors by local artist Don Nisbett.

Nisbett also paints in acrylic and on glassware and makes other products in-studio, depicting his original images. Products include prints, cards, magnets, tiles and coffee mugs, including many made-to-order.

Ilwaco Artworks, 109 First Ave.

Create ceramic monoprint tiles during a drop-in clay session at this community studio and art gallery, which is part of Sou’wester Arts.

No registration is necessary for the studio time, which is open to ages 14 and above or 10 and above with an adult. Glazing and firing are included, and finished work may be shipped for visitors.

J Brunner Fine Art, 118 First Ave.

This Port of Ilwaco gallery will be featuring acrylics by Karen Brazeau and large format photography by Jason Brunner, who captures ethereal images of the Pacific Northwest.

Luisa Mack Jewelry & Art, 177 Howerton Way

See the newest additions to jeweler Luisa Mack’s “Ocean” series — a collection of one-of-a-kind rings and pendants inspired by the great Pacific.

Also, contemporary ceramic artist Martie Kilmer will be showing her newest chain garland, an all-ceramic, hand-built chain to decorate a wall.

Anna Lee Larimore’s plein-air paintings of previous summer art walks are framed and ready to be viewed. She will continue her series one more time for this last art walk of the year.

Marie Powell Gallery, 177 Howerton Way

Artist Susan Spence, who creates handmade baskets from recycled crab rope, will be on-site at this gallery to demonstrate her techniques and answer questions.

Also featured will be resident artist Marie Powell’s original monotypes, paintings by Gregory Gorham and work by local potter David Campiche.

Skywater Home & Gallery, 139 Howerton Way

Over 30 regional artists are featured at this location. Work includes photography. stained glass art, jewelry, paintings, sculptures, mixed media and collage pieces.
