SEAVIEW — Two local authors will lead a writing retreat between April 10 and April 13 at the Sou’wester Lodge on Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula.

Marianne Monson, an author of several books about women’s history, and Tele Aadsen, a commercial fisherman and performer at Astoria’s FisherPoets Gathering, are behind “Writing at the Edge of the Sea.”
Group sessions will continue over three days, and the weekend’s activities include walks, readings, two days of catered lunches and “endless coffee and tea.” Lodging and additional meals are not included.

Monson is a poet, novelist, editor, and author who focuses on retelling women’s stories from history. The author of 12 books, she is the founder of The Writers Guild and co-host of KMUN’s River Writers and has taught creative writing for more than two decades.

Aadsen is an essayist, nonfiction writer and former social worker. She is the author of “What Water Holds,” an award-winning memoir of lyrical essays.

Tickets for the retreat range from $375 to $495. All writing levels and genres are welcome. Register at www.thewritersguild.org/spring-retreat.
