The winners of Coast Weekend’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards won’t be announced until March 20, but Feb. 28 is the last day to vote across more than 50 categories of regional arts, dining and recreation.

So far, more than 20,000 votes have poured in for the contest, after more than 8,000 nominations were entered in January and early February.

To ensure the contest is an accurate reflection of readers’ favorite places to eat, shop and explore — think of it like advice from a local in a coffee shop — voting is limited to once per week per person, online at Discover Our Coast or through mailing in a ballot to The Astorian at 949 Exchange St.

Friday’s voting deadline makes this week’s edition the last with a printed ballot, which can be found on pages 11 to 14. On Pages 12 to 13, you’ll find a list of some of the top nominees in each category, with more to choose from online.

So tell us, one more time, where your favorite spot to watch the sunset is. Give us the name of your favorite local band, or a lesser-known hiking trail others ought to try. And tell us about the people — chefs, artists, servers, baristas — who make this region what it is.
