SEASIDE — “For the Love of Puffins,” a presentation by Katherine Luscher, a tufted puffin coordinator with the Audubon Seabird Institute, will take place Feb. 15 at the North Coast Land Conservancy’s Circle Creek Conservation Center.
The talk begins at 10 a.m., with Luscher covering research on the state of tufted puffin populations, including those in nearby Cannon Beach, and more about her work coordinating puffin research across the Pacific Northwest.
A Q&A session and light treats will be served after the presentation, which is being organized in partnership with the Friends of Haystack Rock.
Tufted puffins return to Haystack Rock between April and August to nest, and the rock is home to one of the largest breeding colonies of puffins in the United States. To learn more about tufted puffins in Oregon, visit www.friendsofhaystackrock.org.
