SEASIDE — Lloyd Lindley will present “Logging Oregon’s Coastal Forests,” a video project compiled by local historian Mark Beach, with the support of videographer Carl Vandervoort, at Seaside Brewing Co. 6 p.m. Thursday.

Logging has a long history in the Pacific Northwest, as a celebrated trade for many. This presentation will focus on historic logging along our coastline, how it built communities, supported families and changed our economy. The video will also touch on how much the industry has evolved.

“Logging Oregon’s Coastal Forests” is based on a book of the same title that Beach authored, which will be available for sale.

The presentation is part of History & Hops, a lecture series organized by the Seaside Museum & Historical Society with support from the Seaside Public Library, and was coordinated with the help of Tom Campbell, executive director of the Nehalem Valley Historical Society in Manzanita.

History & Hops is a series of local history discussions hosted by the museum on the last Thursday of each month, September through May, at Seaside Brewing Co.The event is free to attend. For more information, email seasidemuseum@gmail.com.
