ASTORIA — Rain Magazine, Clatsop Community College’s long-running literary arts publication, is accepting submissions of art, photography, poetry, nonfiction and fiction through Feb. 23 for the 2025 edition.

The magazine welcomes contributions from the community as well as all Clatsop County college and high school students.

This year’s theme section looks to “Dreams.” These could be daydreams, chasing goals, what we dream about when no one is looking, or what we’d pursue if there were no challenges — however the writer or artist interprets the concept.

General submissions apart from the theme will also be considered for the first half of the magazine. A $10 fee will be charged for each non-student submission. There is a limit of two, with an exception: three poems may count as one submission.

Prose should be less than 1,500 words in length. The ability to print color is limited, so artists submitting color images should indicate if the image may appear in black and white.

Label work by genre, such as poetry, fiction or nonfiction, on the manuscript. Entries should include a full name, address, phone number, email, title of the work(s), medium, and a 200-word maximum artist or author biography.

Email submissions to rainmagazine@clatsopcc.edu with “2025 Submission” as the subject line. For more information, contact Kama O’Connor at koconnor@clatsopcc.edu.
