Seaside’s art walk takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month in the historic Gilbert District, with free, dedicated parking at Holladay Drive and Oceanway Street. Meet local artists and discover their latest collections.
Fairweather House and Gallery, 612 Broadway
Opening with a reception for “All Aglow,” an exhibit of one-of-a-kind gifts and artworks for the holiday season, with live music from acoustic guitarist and singer Jason Lambert.
The exhibit will feature Seaside textile artist Cicely Gilman, artist-in-residence Vanessa K. Stokes, and Renee Hafeman, a vintage Chanel jewelry creator and designer.
In addition, the gallery offers a trunk showing of Northwest jewelry makers. The gallery provides a complimentary festive gift-wrapping service with each purchase.
Garden Gate, 608 Broadway
At this new location, find iron sculptures and clay statures suited for the North Coast climate. Aged moss and rust are embraced, as well as enamel-painted garden features and repurposed items. Briggs, the store’s cattle dog, is the latest neighborhood pet mascot.

On rural backroads of the Pacific Northwest, roadside memorials — crosses, flowers and words — remind passersby of how fragile life can be. On the road one moment, gone the next.
In “Around the Next Bend: Two Cameras in Conversation,” photographer Chris Villiers uses traditional darkroom techniques to document these memorials, in an exhibit he hopes will encourage people to stop, look closely and think about the people and stories behind each image.
“Around the Next Bend” continues at the library through Jan. 7, before moving to The Seattle Light Room starting Feb. 6.
The Whet Spot, 12 Holladay Drive
In December, this taproom continues to feature the work of Seaside abstract artist Kandy Schwartz, whose most recent work highlights her “fine-feathered friends.” Her work, and that of other local artists, is displayed in a gathering room, offering craft beers, wines and ciders.
