The Land Conservancy will offer tours of its new Circle Creek Conservation Center building at an open house on Sunday.

SEASIDE — The North Coast Land Conservancy is offering two chances to explore the Circle Creek Habitat Reserve this week.

On Friday, Eric Owen, stewardship manager for the Land Conservancy, will lead a forest fungi walk at Circle Creek from 1 to 3 p.m., with a close eye on the roles of different mushrooms and how they interact in their environment.

Then, from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, the Land Conservancy will host an open house to unveil its new Circle Creek Conservation Center building. The gathering will include an introduction, tours of the new center, kids’ activities and refreshments.

Both events are free and open to the public; registration is required for the fungi exploration. Hikers should plan to bring water, snacks and sturdy walking shoes. To register or learn more about the Circle Creek project, visit www.nclctrust.org.
