The Harbor’s 21st annual Soup Bowl on Friday will feature handcrafted bowls by Astoria potter Richard Rowland.

ASTORIA — Attendees of a fundraising dinner hosted by local nonprofit The Harbor will have the chance to take home a handcrafted bowl by a master potter.

Richard Rowland and his team of volunteers have worked in a kiln outside Astoria to fire the bowls, nearly 200 of them each year, for the annual Soup Bowl, which returns at 6 p.m. Friday at The Loft at the Red Building in Uniontown.

The 21st annual event will feature soup from Astoria restaurants, live music, a series of speakers and a live auction, supporting The Harbor’s work with domestic violence and assault survivors and on violence prevention in Clatsop County.

Acting as a silent auction host and emcee will be David Frei, co-host of NBC’s National Dog Show and the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

Tickets for the dinner are $75, available at www.harbornw.org/soup-bowl-2024.
