Singer-songwriter, activist performs at KALA

ASTORIA — KALA will welcome Heather Mae, a singer-songwriter and queer activist based in Austin, Texas, to the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

An acclaimed singer-songwriter focusing on social justice, Mae bares her soul in her music, creating shared vulnerability for her listeners. Her honesty, onstage and off, has cultivated a devoted fanbase and award-winning career.

Her double record, soon to be released, rallies a collective of women and non-binary talents in Nashville, Tennesse, assembling producers ZDAN and Lollies with guest artists Allison Russell, a Grammy Award winner, and duo Sistastrings.
