CANNON BEACH — The Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce is seeking an artist of the year for 2025, who will create posters for the city’s annual Sandcastle Contest and Stormy Weather Arts Festival, among other projects.

The chamber launched the program last year with the selection of Cannon Beach painter Donald Scott Masterson, who created artwork for this year’s Sandcastle Contest.

To apply, artists should submit two original prototypes, which can be sketches or examples of previous work. These should reflect the style and medium in which the artist would create event posters, and include the image of Haystack Rock.

Applications should also include a letter of interest, no longer than one page. Compensation for the selected artist begins at $1,000.

Submissions must be received by 5 p.m. Tuesday, by email to lynn@cannonbeach.org or in person at the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce.
