Upcoming events in Seaside and Cannon Beach will celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with folk dancing, art workshops and traditional food.

El Centro NW, a nonprofit that provides financial, educational and cultural support, is planning an event in Cannon Beach City Park at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 18. Authentic Hispanic food will be offered for sale with folk dances and family-friendly games.

Consejo Hispiano, an Astoria nonprofit that serves the North Coast Hispanic community, is hosting a free celebration in Seaside on Sept. 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Old Broadway Middle School, organized in partnership with the Sunset Empire Park & Recreation District.

The two groups are also offering an Oct. 5 event in Tillamook.

Activities at the Consejo Hispano events include dance performances, a magic and comedy show, free folk art workshops and an artisan fair.
