Meet local artists and see new exhibits at Seaside’s First Saturday Art Walk, returning between 5 and 7 p.m. to the city’s historic Gilbert District. Find dedicated parking for the event along Holladay Drive and Oceanway Street.

Crafted in Seaside, 530 Broadway

This gift shop carries the work of several local artists, in addition to craft supplies and jewelry-making kits, and lets visitors turn designs into keepsake items using a creative studio.

Fairweather House and Gallery, 612 Broadway

Opening with a reception for “Off the Beaten Path,” a new show featuring abstract painter Vicki Baker, watercolorist Paul Bent, fresco artist Agnes Field, pastel artist Barbara Bacon Folawn, glass artist Jan Young Park and ceramicist Hui-Yong Kim.

The collection’s concept focuses on keeping one’s eyes open for significant moments and is a metaphor for independent thought — for trying things others haven’t.

The gallery will also be introducing new jewelry by Cannon Beach-based artist Jen Hoff. Paul Brent will work on a live painting during the art walk, while Jason Lambert plays live music.

Pacific Heirloom, 608 Broadway

Featuring a signed pair of Mary Erickson’s plein air artworks of sandpipers. The artist writes, “I believe that there will come a day when the only places we will glimpse true nature will be in the areas we set aside. I record what I see. That is my work’s importance.”

TigerLily Gallery, 613 Broadway

This gallery will be featuring landscape studies by Cannon Beach artist Scott C. Johnson, rooted in the practice of plein air painting.

A watercolorist, Johnson has been inspired by soft washes in the Japanese tradition and the refined linework of Persian miniatures. His work reflects the changing moods and impending weather of the Pacific Northwest.

The Whet Spot, 12 Holladay Drive

This venue will feature abstract art in vibrant acrylics by Seaside artist Kandy Schwartz. Her colorful creations aim to ignite viewers’ imagination and awaken a sense of wonder about being at the beach.
