ASTORIA — Learn to care for this native Northwest plant with beautiful pink flowers at a free event in the Flavel House Museum garden at 10 a.m. Monday.

With 24 years of landscaping experience, join the Flavel House Garden Society’s Anne Stickel, who has extensive knowledge of growing rhododendrons in the local climate.
Stickel will share advice on rhododendron varieties, preferred planting locations, fertilizing, pruning, pests and diseases. Participants should bring their own pruners.
