ASTORIA — Conductor Cory Pederson will lead the Columbia River Symphony in “Astoria Regatta Summer Pops,” a free multimedia concert centered around a story of the Regatta, at the Liberty Theatre, at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The show will combine music, presentations and visuals framed around the journey of a young boy who decides to enter a nautical race in the historic festival.
Musical selections performed by the symphony orchestra will include well-known pieces from films, such as “Jurassic World,” “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Star Trek,” and arrangements of “We Are the World” and “All the Pretty Little Horses.”
The concert is free, with donations to the symphony welcome. Doors open at 6 p.m., and there will be a quilt raffle in the theater lobby. For more details, visit www.libertyastoria.org.
