Seaside Art Walk for July: Craft nights, charcoal portraits

The Seaside First Saturday Art Walk is held monthly from 5 to 7 p.m. in the historic Gilbert District. Find parking at Holladay Drive and Oceanway Street to meet artists and explore new exhibits.

Crafted in Seaside, 530 Broadway

Presenting craft and sip nights, crafting supplies, and jewelry-making kits.

Fairweather House and Gallery, 612 Broadway

Opening with a reception for “Get Started” featuring designer Renee Hafeman, who writes, “My passion is to create from vintage, retro-modern, and midcentury things, new jewelry with memories and give each a new start.”

The gallery will also welcome summertime oil painter Victoria Brooks and watercolor artist Paul Brent, whose work is on the cover of the Seaside Visitors Bureau annual travel guide.

Also being displayed are abstracts by Vicki Baker and glass art by Jah Young Park, with live music by Jason Lambert during the art walk.

Pacific Heirloom, 608 Broadway

Featuring a group of vintage cookie jars, offering brownies baked by Kay Kemy and spotlighting Mica, the store’s pet black lab.

SunRose Gallery, 606 Broadway

Featuring Laura Jacobson’s charcoal portraits, acrylic paintings, glass mosaics, mixed media, clay, chalk art and sewing. Other featured artists are Jan Barber with her Messenger Dolls and Mari Cardinal Walker with her fun credit card mosaics.

Fresh appetizers will be served, and live music will be provided by Ray Coffey and David Crabtree of the Beat Greens.

TigerLily Gallery, 613 Broadway

Featuring the work of Lori O’Haver, a Ridgefield, Washington, based painter who works with coastal landscapes. A resident of the Pacific Northwest since childhood, O’Haver is largely self-taught and enjoys the freedom of painting on large canvases.

The Whet Spot, 12 Holladay Drive

Local artist Kandy Schwartz has added to her colorful collection. Come see her abstract work. Mason, the rescued street dog, now a mascot, will attend.
