ASTORIA — Jenny Rideout will be Astoria Visual Arts’ newest artist in residence, beginning in July and continuing through Dec. 30.

During the six-month residency, Rideout will move into a downtown studio space within the Astoria Studio Collective on 10th Street. She plans to use the time and space to continue her latest textile-based body of work, “Sails, Freq Flags, and Bonnets for Space Exploration.”

Rideout was one of nine artists featured in Imogen Gallery’s annual “Hook, Pulp and Weave” exhibition last year. She moved to Astoria in 2022.

Astoria Visual Arts’ a-i-r program is open to local artists ages 18 and over living in Clatsop or Pacific counties. For more about the program, visit www.astoriavisualarts.org/ava-air.
