College announces student art show winners

ASTORIA — The Clatsop Community College Art Department has announced the winners of an annual student art show at the Royal Nebeker Gallery.
The exhibit, juried by Astoria artist and educator Elise Wagner, showed a selection of work created by students over the past two years in art courses at the college.
The first place winner in ceramics was Beverly DiSisto, for the piece “Circus on a Pedestal.” In second and third place were Renee Fruiht and David Tomkins.
First place in the design and photography category was awarded to Jessica Bahl, for “More than You Know,” followed by Tanya Diaz Dolores in second place and Samantha Saldivar in third place.
In drawing, painting and printmaking, the first place winner was Isabella Clement, for “Forest Spirit,” followed by Dawn Stevick in second place and Iris Douglas in third.
The college also honored Tanya Diaz Dolores with the art departmental award, given to an outstanding graduating student in that discipline.
