ASTORIA — KALA is welcoming the vintage roots duo Tom Letson and the Letdown for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Brothers Tom and Jim Letson have taken their acoustic guitar and banjo music to venues throughout the Northwest, drawing influence from the prewar Piedmont & Hill-Country blues, Appalachian mountain music and alternative rock.
Inspired by the soul-seeking songs and life story of Woody Guthrie, singer-songwriter Tom Letson’s acoustic blues technique is performed on resonator guitar and clawhammer banjo, accompanied by Jim Letson on drums and percussion.
Doors open at 7 p.m., tickets are $15 online and, if available, at the door. To purchase, call 503-338-4878 or visit www.kalaastoria.com.
