Poetry and music are coming to KALA

Hear folk music trio The Wildwoods play on Sunday at KALA.

ASTORIA — Two events at KALA this week will bring music and poetry to the stage.

At 7 p.m. Friday, the venue on Marine Drive welcomes author and naturalist Robert Michael Pyle to read from and talk on his new book “The Last Man in Willapa,” a collection of more than 75 lyrical and descriptive poems.

A Q&A, book signing and social with refreshments will follow the reading.

On Sunday, Lincoln, Nebraska, based trio The Wildwoods will play folk and American roots music, including from their 2023 release “Foxfield Saint John.” Members of the band are Noah and Chloe Gose, accompanied by bassist Andrew Vaggalis.

Tickets are $10 for the Friday reading and $20 for the Sunday concert. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. For more details, visit www.kalaastoria.com.
