The North Coast Chorale will sing along to “White Christmas” on Friday.

ASTORIA — The North Coast Chorale will reprise its exploration of Broadway musicals with two performances at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts.

The group’s spring concert is “The Macabre,” featuring a selection of choral medleys chosen by director Vincent Jones-Centeno. Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Sunday.

The concert’s theme looks at light that radiates within darkness, as demonstrated by the characters of musicals like “Sweeney Todd,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Matilda” and “Phantom of the Opera.”

Genres represented by the show vary from classical and romantic operatic arias to doo-wop and rhythm and blues. Medleys will include soloists and ensembles, and young performers from the Astoria Conservatory of Music will accompany the chorale.

Tickets are $17 and can be purchased by phone at 503-338-9132, at the door or online at www.partnersforthepac.org.
