Eugene author to read at Seaside Library

Miriam Gershow, author of the short story collection “Survival Tips,” will read at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Seaside Library Community Room.

SEASIDE — Eugene author Miriam Gershow will read at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Seaside Public Library Community Room.

Gershow will present “Survival Tips,” a collection of 10 short stories about characters in search of connection and meaning. In one, a wife begins communicating with her husband only in puzzles. In another, a new teacher confronts the parents of a disruptive student.

Gershow is also the author of the novel “The Local News,” which was an Oregon Book Award finalist, and teaches writing at the University of Oregon.
