ILWACO, Wash. — Two annual events this weekend will coincide with the opening day of the Ilwaco Saturday Market.

The market’s opening day will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on the waterfront, accompanied by the Ilwaco Children’s Parade at noon, followed at 2:30 p.m. by the Blessing of the Fleet.

The children’s parade route will begin at the east end of Howerton Way and continue to First Avenue and Lake Street. Awards will be given for the best pet costume, float theme and decorated bike.

Same-day registration for the free parade will be open between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the Coho Charters parking lot.
