North Coast Symphonic Band presents music from stage and screen

Sweeping film scores and music from modern musicals will make up the latest concert from the North Coast Symphonic Band at 2 p.m. Sunday.

ASTORIA — Music from stage and screen will light up the Liberty Theatre at 2 p.m. Sunday in a concert from the North Coast Symphonic Band.

Emceeing for the event will be Brian Bergman, board president of the group, with the band conducted by Terry Dahlgren, of Warrenton.

The concert will include scores from films and modern musicals, such as pieces from “Gone With the Wind” and “West Side Story” and the music of Duke Ellington and ABBA.

Prelude music from the Quadrophone Sax Quartet will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tickets on the day of the show are $20. For more details about the event, visit www.libertyastoria.org.
