ASTORIA — A downtown walking tour led by Zachary Stocks, executive director of Oregon Black Pioneers, will cover sites connected to the region’s Black history.
The two-hour, 1-mile loop at 10 a.m. Saturday will begin and end at the Clatsop County Heritage Museum, where visitors can view the exhibit “Blocked Out: Race and Place in the Making of Modern Astoria.”
Stops along the route will cover information about historic Black residents and Black-owned businesses. Local filmmaker Ron Craig will also join the tour to talk about York, a figure within the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
