Vote for the region's best in the Readers’ Choice Awards.

More than 16,000 nominations have been sent in over the past few weeks for this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

As in past years, the nominees include hundreds of people, businesses and places on the Northwest coast between the Nehalem River and Willapa Bay, including many longtime favorites and new additions.

On Thursday, the contest moves to its voting window, and in this week’s edition is a list of the top nominees in each category — including businesses, dining, activities and arts.

Through March 4, return to the Readers’ Choice tab online to cast a vote for your favorites up to once per day. For those who prefer to vote by mail, a ballot is attached in this issue that you can mail to The Astorian, 949 Exchange St., Astoria, ahead of the voting deadline.

Last year’s contest received nearly 60,000 votes. Help choose this year’s winners over the next few weeks. Look for the results of the contest in the March 21 issue of Coast Weekend.
