Johnson draws on a classical background to cover a repertoire that includes Americana, R&B, arias and rock and roll. They have been a contestant on NBC’s “The Voice” and last year released the album “Jewels,” which includes the track “Can’t Go Home.”
That song was written about how their grandmother had to give up the family home in their hometown of Tacoma, Washington. Other songs on the record also tell personal stories, in the form of romantic ballads and a cover of a classical hymn.
For this show, Johnson will be joined by bassist Shaun Crawford. Admission is $25. For more information and to buy tickets, visit www.peninsulaartscenter.org.
