Clatsop County Cultural Coalition to award grants for local arts

“Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” runs through Dec. 22 at the Coaster Theatre in Cannon Beach.

CANNON BEACH — Grants totaling $11,500 will be awarded by the Clatsop County Cultural Coalition to organizations within the county that promote local arts, heritage and humanities.

Coalition grant funding is provided by the Oregon Cultural Trust, and will support projects, programs, events and facility improvements for arts organizations.

The public is invited to attend the group’s annual awards ceremony at the Coaster Theatre Playhouse, held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Charlene Larsen, the coalition board’s co-chair, will serve as the event’s emcee. Sheila Martin, president of the Arts Council of Clatsop County, will give a presentation titled “Arts Make a Difference.”

Music during the event will be provided by Chelsea LaFey, who will sing 1940s and 1950s hits. Light refreshments will be served.
