NEHALEM — A winter celebration will honor milestones of the historic North County Recreation District building as it approaches its centennial anniversary.

The event begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the recreation district’s Performing Arts Center, following an 11 a.m. holiday social.

The main event will include information on the building’s history as well as preview a new aquatics facility, designed by Robertson-Sherwood Architects, of Eugene. The aquatics facility will utilize mass timber design, a building material made from layers of wood stacked and glued together.

Child care will be offered at this free event. Attendees will be entered in a drawing for prizes from the Tillamook County Creamery Association. To register, visit www.ncrd.org.
