MANZANITA — Artist Pam Patrie will speak on the art of weaving at a 4:30 p.m. Friday lecture at Hoffman Center for the Arts, followed by workshops on Saturday and Sunday.

Patrie brings more than 50 years of experience in weaving and will discuss the history of the art form internationally and its development in the United States. In 1974, travels in France led to a lifelong practice of production tapestry in Portland.

She will highlight commissions and exhibited works as well as numerous artists and weavers who visited her studio over decades in Portland. Her work continues in the cabin retreat near Manzanita. Admission to the lecture is $15. For details, visit www.hoffmanarts.org.
