Riverbend Players stage ‘A Christmas Story’ in Nehalem

NEHALEM — The Riverbend Players, with a cast that includes seven local children and a mother-son duo, are staging “A Christmas Story” at the North County Recreational District Performing Arts Center.

The play runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. through Dec. 17.

Directed by Frank Squillo, the show is an adapted version of humorist Jean Shepherd’s memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the late 1930s. Appearing as Ralphie Parker will be Oliver Arnold, whose real-life mother, Bryonie Arnold, appears as Parker’s mother alongside Dawson Carter as Parker’s dad.
